Diplomate Spotlight: Celebrating Excellence In Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Craig S. Hollander, St. Louis pediatric dentist, receives the GSLDS Gold Medal Award in recognition and appreciation of his outstanding service and devotion to the advancement of the profession of dentistry.

St. Louis - Greater St. Louis Dental Society member, Dr. Craig S. Hollander, received the Dental Society’s Gold Medal Award at the Society’s Annual Installation of Officers and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Piazza Messina, Cottleville, Missouri. This award is the dental society’s highest honor and is given to an individual who has devoted essentially an entire career to the advancement of the profession of dentistry.
Dr. Hollander completed his pediatric dental training in 1991 and began his career with Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills. He soon met the love of his life Abby and had two kids, Jeni and Ian. Dr. Hollander started his lifelong commitment to volunteerism when he joined and later chaired the Children’s Dental Health Month committee. He then began teaching at various dental programs and developing initiatives within the state to improve oral health for infants and toddlers by being an advisor for the Missouri Dental Association (MDA)’s Start Right program, MoHealth Net, and Parents as Teachers.
Dr. Hollander co-founded the Missouri Academy of Pediatric Dentistry where he wrote their Constitution and Bylaws, was its first President, and is currently the Secretary Treasurer for Life. He’s a past MDA Dentist of the Year recipient, and former President of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society. Dr. Hollander is currently the Vice Chair of the HealthWorks’ Kids’ Museum, the President of Give Kids a Smile in St. Louis, and moderates a monthly oral health Teledentistry webinar. He is a member of both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He also enjoys being a board examiner and the chair of the recertification committee for the ABPD. When he has free time, he likes to listen to live music and think of his next project.
Dr. Craig Hollander was board certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) in 1999. He has been volunteering with ABPD since 2007. He has served as an Oral Clinical Examination Examiner and a member of the Qualifying Examination and Renewal of Certification Committees. He is currently the Chair of the Renewal of Certification Process Committee.
